  • 1 lbs lean ground turkey
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ⅓ cup onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, pressed
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Sambal Oelek
  • 2 tbsp Pace Picante, or other salsa
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • ½ tsp chili powder, chipotle or cayenne pepper, (optional)
  • 1 tsp mesquite seasoning, or smoked paprika (optional)

In a large skillet, sauté onion in olive oil over low heat until translucent. Mix dry spices in mortar or small bowl. Add meat to pan and cook until browned, flipping and chopping to make crumbles. Add dry spices and mix thoroughly to coat meat crumbles. Add garlic and Sambal Oelek, turn off stove heat and mix thoroughly as the pan cools down. Serve in corn or flour tortillas with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, cilantro, salsa and guacamole as desired.

Meat crumbles may be mixed with refried beans, potatoes or served in a bowl with black beans and rice.
