 Ingredients
  • 1 ½ cups flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • ½ tsp allspice
  • ¼ tsp cloves
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ⅓ cup canola oil
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup molasses
  • ½ cup water, boiling
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
Instructions

Grease and lightly flour a 9 inch cake pan or two 6 inch cake pans, preheat oven to 350 ℉. In medium bowl combine flour, spices, baking powder and soda. In a mixer bowl, beat egg, oil and sugar. Add dry ingredients and water alternately to mixture, beating after each addition. Turn into prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or till done. Cool for 10 minutes, remove from pan and serve warm with dusting of powdered sugar.
